Captain Gilmer Christian School is owned and operated by Fletcher Academy, Inc. (FAI) which was founded in 1910 and is a non-profit corporation that provides the business framework for a unique operating structure. This structure includes two independent Christian schools that provide a distinctly Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) education as well as several businesses dedicated to furthering Christian Adventist education. FAI, whose motto is “Christian Businesses for Christian Education,” manages these businesses that not only serve our community but also provide the opportunity for students to earn a portion of their tuition while giving them real-life work experiences.

FAI owns and operates both Captain Gilmer Christian School (CGCS), grades pre K – 8, and Fletcher Academy (FA), grades 9 – 12. FA is fully funded by the combination of tuition, income from the businesses of FAI, and contributions made by dedicated alumni and friends. CGCS is partially funded by three constituent area SDA churches (Fletcher, Arden, and Hendersonville). This model has served Fletcher for many years.

Fletcher Academy, an independent college preparatory high school founded in 1910, exists to provide a distinctly Seventh-day Adventist education where spiritual development is bolstered with academic rigor, work skills, and character development that challenges our graduates to have a transforming influence in their world as disciples of Jesus.

Fletcher Park Inn (FPI) is a Christian retirement community nestled on the property of Fletcher Academy, Inc. and is one of the most affordable retirement communities in the area with amenities and conveniences not offered anywhere else. Fletcher Academy students work at FPI to help pay their expenses to attend school. Come and experience the friendly family atmosphere at FPI where we are actively “Meeting Your Needs and Enriching Your Life”.
